Elphaba had a great idea: to create a blogroll for people who are parenting after infertility and/or loss (PAIL, for short). It's true, I think, that those of us on this blogroll may be different than other parents, and it's exciting to think we might have a place, together. I don't think of myself as part of the world of infertility and loss anymore and I certainly don't identify as a mommy blogger. In fact, I recoil from many mommy blogs, and I can't quite put my finger on why, though perhaps my identify as a member of PAIL is a big clue, huh?
Anyway, I invite you to head over and check it out!
I agree! I know that I am one of the rare cases of people who actually started blogging after having a baby - and I did so as a PAIL, NOT, as you say, a mommy blogger. I will go and check it out.
ReplyDeleteI didn't start until after having baby #1, either. I wonder if it's so rare...it's certainly common in the ALI community to see people who write during the process, but I imagine there are plenty of us who start later, after the dust has settled and we're figuring out what happened and where we are now, with child(ren). Interesting....
ReplyDeleteI'm in the same boat. I started reading/commenting on blogs during IF, but didn't start blogging until pregnant with #2.
ReplyDeleteI thought about blogging during our IF journey, but when I finally made the decision to do it, I was pregnant and just did NOT want to write a pregnancy blog at that time. Then I decided to document our "secondary IF" & ended up pregnant again before I got started. During my second pregnancy I went through a major emotional upheaval and trying to manage and explore the intense changes & new expectations in my life led me to creating my blog. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out, too!
I'm super excited about PAIL. It is such a great idea, and Elphaba set it up in record speed :)
